New e-resource orders and trials start with an ERIN request. ERIN requests also trigger workflows for adding free e-resources to HOLLIS, for re-licensing, and for platform and fund changes. ERIN requests drive the workflow for licensing, ordering, proxying, paying, activating, and discovery analysis, each of which may be handled by a different person. Once an ERIN request is complete, ongoing maintenance and renewals are managed in Alma.
Two types of e-resource orders can be accommodated without an ERIN request:
- Single e-books placed directly in GOBI;
- Single streaming videos from standard platforms (use this form)
None of the other subscription agent or vendor purchasing platforms are integrated with our workflows, so use ERIN instead.
Users need an ERIN account to use the system. If you need an ERIN account, email the ERIN team: erin@lists.fas.harvard.edu. For more information on ERIN Request Types, who your coordinator would be, or to learn more about ERIN, visit ERIN documentation.
