ITS keeps track of its cataloging activities by using the holdings record 920 field. The cataloging unit, date and type of cataloging are recorded for each holdings record, whether cataloged by staff or supplied by a vendor. The Cataloging Statistics Dashboard allows Alma users to run reports on that data to answer such questions as how many books in a given language were cataloged for a given library in a given month. Any library or unit wishing to use the 920 field to learn about their cataloging activities should contact ITS to obtain a unique cataloging unit code.
